Koloa Plantation Days. It is held on Kauai’s south shore every year in July. It is to celebrate the many ethnic groups that came to Hawaii to work on sugar plantations, and the Hawaiians who welcomed them. They are celebrated through music, dance, costumes, and food throughout this ten-day festival.
2019 marks the 34th year for Koloa Plantation Days. This is an event that many find return to year after year. This festival brings people to Koloa and Poipu on Kauai’s south shore. All to celebrate aspects of the plantation lifestyle that we are still connected to. The mill and fields are idle in Koloa and virtually all of the state. Many people in Hawaii are former workers or descendants of plantation workers who came from many lands.
Many individuals, companies and organizations each year volunteer their precious time, energy and resources. This make Koloa Plantation Days possible. We welcome you to join in the fun and help us. We need to preserve and share Koloa’s colorful history and local culture with our residents and visitors alike.
