Prince Kuhio Day Celebration

The Annual Anahola Prince Kuhio Day Celebration

In March is the Annual Anahola Prince Kuhio Day Celebration. Join us at one of our favorite Kauai events, a celebration of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole, a former heir to the throne during Hawaii’s monarchy, as well as US congressional delegate. The Hawaiian culture comes alive through music, hula, and hands-on activities during this well-loved local event.

See educational, cultural, health and wellness exhibits that are great for the whole family, as well as craft booths from local vendors at the Prince Kuhio Day Celebration. You will be also able to enjoy local Hawaiian comfort food from various food booths and lose yourself in the rhythms of the islands with live music and hula presentations. For an authentic view into Hawaiian culture, come for the start of the event when the Hookupu (offering) protocol ceremony will be held.

When and Where

The Celebration ordinarily takes place in March. This free event is held at Anahola Beach Park, located in Kauai’s east coast town of Anahola. To reach the Beach Park, turn toward the ocean from Highway 56 on to Anahola Road.

Located just 7 miles north of Kapa’a, Kauai’s largest hub for shopping and restaurants. It’s location on the northern portion of the east coast. There is also easy access to the island’s popular Princeville resort area, as well as the north shore’s pristine beaches.

Anahola is not too distant from our Poipu Vacation Rental. It does give you an excuse for a day trip to another part of the island. Anahola is another beautiful area to visit on the island.  Book Your Trip at one of the best places to stay on Kauai today!
